Services celebrating the life of Annemarie Ain, 93, will be held at 9:00 a.m., Friday, July 30, 2021, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held at 8:30 a.m. until time of service. Rabbi Dr. Jana L. De Benedetti will officiate. Interment will follow at Agudath Achim Hebrew Rest Cemetery, Shreveport, Louisiana.
Annemarie was born September 26, 1927 in Duisburg, Germany and passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021in Shreveport, Louisiana. Her first job was working in Palais Royal in the alteration department. She came to America in 1952. She continued to work as a professional seamstress while she lived in Shreveport. She also worked at KEEL radio station, and then United Jewelers as a receptionist and stenographer.
Her father was in a Concentration Camp as a Political Prisoner, and her husband, Isaac, was the only survivor of Auschwitz from his family.
Annemarie was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Daniel Ain and her granddaughter, Casey Nicole Colley. She is survived by her son David Ain; daughter, Tammy Willson and husband, Paul and loving granddaughter, Kaylin \"Danielle\" Ain, who was devoted to her "Omi."
Honoring Annemarie as pallbearers will be, Bill Braunig, Larry Goodman, David Ginsburg, David Gross, Curtis Joseph, Alan Organic. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Richard Dechowitz and Bob Lachman.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the North Louisiana Jewish Federation, 245 Southfield Rd, Shreveport, LA 71105.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff at The Waterview, Nurse Evan at Willis-Knighton Pierremont ICU and the caring staff at The Carpenter House.
