Annie C. Myers

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, age 88, Annie Charlene Myers was united with her Lord and Savior On Monday, May 11, 2020. Charlene was born in Springhill, LA, on February 17, 1932, to Andrew Charles Lark and Viola O'Neal Lark of Shongaloo, LA. She married Robert Daivd "Bob" Myers, the love of her life, in 1952. Bob preceded her in death in 2016. After graduating salutatorian from Springhill High School, Charlene received her Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA through a fully funded program created due to the need for more nurses. Charlene worked as an RN in Niles, MI before returning to Louisiana where she and Bob spent their remaining years together on a small farm raising two boys. Charlene enjoyed gardening - a passion she had since childhood. The beautiful trees and plants that encircle her Frierson home serve as a reminder of her wonderfully talented "green thumb". Charlene lovingly devoted her life to the Lord as an active member of Gloster Baptist Church where she served on many committees, taught Sunday School, and did missions work. Charlene is survived by her two sons Paul David Myers and wife Amy of Baltimore, MD, John Thomas Myers and wife Nancy of Frierson, LA; She was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren: Andrew David Myers and wife Taylor of Frierson, LA, Julia Myers of Baltimore, MD, Brittany Nicole Myers of Frierson, LA, Anna Myers of Baltimore, MD, and Eleanore Myers of Baltimore, MD. Charlene was also the loving great-grandmother of Robert Jaxon Myers of Frierson, LA. Charlene was the loving middle sister of Mary Jane Walters of Baton Rouge, LA, and Lucille Basham of Bossier City, LA. Charlene was also blessed with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Charlene will be interned with her husband at Northwest LA Veterans Cemetery and a memorial service will be held at a later date at Gloster Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or a charity of your choice.
