SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services for Mrs. Annie M. Stephenson, 95, will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Forest Park West Cemetery, Shreveport, LA. Dr. Murry Hodge will officiate. Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, June 30 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Annie was born on November 2, 1920 in Waldo, Arkansas to Fernando Guy Hyde and Sarah Leggett Hyde, and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 25, 2016 following a lengthy illness. She was a long-time member of Grawood Baptist Church and Summer Grove Baptist Church where she taught primary Sunday school all through the years. Annie met the love of her life, James R. Stephenson, they married in 1944 and lived happily until his death in 2013. Preceding Annie in death are her parents, her husband of 69 years James R. Stephenson, sisters Imogene Hyde Farris and Thelma Hyde Vaughan, daughter-in-law Lois Brown Stephenson, niece Cynthia Vaughan and nephew John Vaughan, Jr. She is survived by her son Mark D. Stephenson; grandson James D. Pye; great-grandchildren Adrian J. Pye and Michael J. Pye; niece Kay C. Vaughan; great-nephew John W. Vaughan III and wife Angela; great-great nephews Evan Vaughan, Oliver Vaughan; great-great nieces Kate Vaughan and Willa Vaughan, along with numerous family and extended family members. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Timothy Nicholls for all the loving care he gave to Annie and an extra special thank you to all of her neighbors and friends for the love, prayers and assistance they have given to Annie and J.R. through the years.
