ANTOINE GIROUARD

SHREVEPORT, LA- Funeral services for Antoine Girouard, age 91, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday September 28, 2016 at Rose- Neath Southside Chapel. Officiating the service will be Brother Mel Campbell. Interment will be held at Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral Home. Antoine was born in Coteau Holmes, Louisiana on July 4, 1925 to Alexander "Poptis" & Julie Broussard Girouard. He passed away peacefully on Sunday September 25, 2016. Antoine was a loving husband, brother, father, and grandpa and will be greatly missed. He was a member VFW, American Legion Post 14, The 40 and 8. He was a member at The Open Range Cowboy Church. His parents, brothers and sisters, Alphen, Clarence, Lawrence, and Alton Girouard, Tante Mateal Talley, and Elsie Barras, preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 69 years, Joanne Girouard; sons, Donald Girouard and wife Mary, Thomas Girouard and wife Linda, and Johnny Girouard; daughters, Julie Center and husband Keith, and Karen Girouard; grandchildren, Brian and Brad Center, Bobby and Kerry Girouard, Jessica Fletcher, Tony and Bridget Lindsey, and Mike and Elizabeth Girouard, Tom and Mathew Girouard, Jason and Adam Lilley, Kerri Moore; sister, Sadie Stokes; 30 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Honoring Antoine as pallbearers will be Brad Center, Brian Center, Bobby Girouard, Kerry Girouard, Mathew Girouard, Tom Girouard, Tony Lindsey, and Norman Murphy.
