Antoinette "Toni" Chaffin

Antoinette Hosey Chaffin, 83, of Grand Cane, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 30, 2023.

Graveside services honoring the life of “Toni” will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023. at the Grand Cane Cemetery in Grand Cane, Louisiana.  Officiating will be her long-time friend, Kim Jones.

Toni enjoyed many activities, like playing bridge, her book club and helping with the events of Grand Cane, but nothing brought her more joy than being with her family. Her sons, Jim and Todd, and their families kept her busy with many activities including dance recitals, sporting events, and a multitude of academic activities. This brought her an immeasurable amount of joy.  Toni and her granddaughters shared her love for the simple things like berry picking, playing board games, and working puzzles. Her hobbies included working in her yard, crossword puzzles, traveling, and sewing. She made gorgeous hand-smocked dresses for many children.

Toni’s legacy will be her kind heart and loving demeanor. She never met a stranger and was generous to those in need.  Toni left everything and everyone better than she found them. She worked tirelessly to make the lives of her family easier without ever seeking recognition or praise.

Toni was grounded in her faith and was always striving to deepen her relationship with Jesus Christ.  She loved sharing her knowledge of the Bible with friends and family and was truly an example of a Godly woman.

Toni was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Edmund Chaffin and her parents Richard and Phyllis Hosey. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jim Chaffin and wife Gale, Todd Chaffin and wife Laurie; grandchildren, Katie Chapman and husband Brett, Madison Ussery and husband Jacob, Abby Chaffin, Lacy Chaffin, Makenzie Chaffin, Raelin Chaffin; and great-grandchildren Nora Ussery, Ella Ussery, Ruby Ussery, and Charlotte Chapman.
