SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Ardie "Leo" Mitchell, 85, will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend Larry Earhardt. Interment will be held in Forest Park West. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the funeral home. Leo was born on March 14, 1929 in Pleasant Hill, LA and passed away on July 8, 2014. He was a resident of Shreveport, LA and proudly served our country in the US Navy. Leo was self employed as a mechanic and loved fishing, playing dominos, playing cards, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by sons, Ardie Mitchell, Jr., Sammy Mitchell; 3 sisters; 6 brothers. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Betty Mitchell; son, David Mitchell and wife, Rose; daughters, Rita Mitchell, Brenda Smith and husband, Mark, Belynda Hill and husband, Allan, Pam Baker and husband, Tim, Michelle Mitchell, Anita LeGrand and husband, Jimmy; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; beloved niece, Sharon, and husband, Dickie. Pallbearers will be Tim Baker, Jeff Melton, Roy Coleman, Kevin McClure, Bill Hamm, and Harold Bruner. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
