Ardis Hamilton Mills

Ardis Hamilton Mills passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024. He was born in Shreveport on September 28, 1955. Ardis served as an acolyte at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church. He graduated from C. E. Byrd High School. He was intelligent and well read.

Ardis traveled about this great country. He made the western shore of Lake Superior his home for nearly twenty years. He adapted to that harsh environment. Ardis eventually returned home to Shreveport where he spent his last years. 

Ardis appreciated art and music. He enjoyed the outdoors. He was successful in the world of business, yet remained humble. Ardis lived in a frugal and stoic manner, but he was generous towards others. 

Ardis was preceded in death by his father, George Hardwick Mills; stepfather, Markham Allen Dickson and brother, James Hardy Mills. He is survived by his mother, June Baldwin Mills Dickson; his brother, George Hardwick Mills Jr. and wife, Carolyn, and brother, Bryan Haywood Mills with wife, Edna. Also surviving to cherish his memory are his nephews, George Hardwick Mills III and wife, Mandy and Keith Mills; nieces, Clare Mills, Emily Michero and husband, Jeff, and Melissa Mills; grandnephew, Quinton Michero and grandniece, Virginia Michero. His other family members and friends will also miss him.
