Shreveport, La - A celebration of life will be held for Armor Nell Honley at 12 Noon on Monday, April 13, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Southside Funeral Home, 2500 Southside in Shreveport, La. Visitation will be Sunday, April 12, 2015 beginning at 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, also at Rose-Neath Southside. Officiating will be Justin Haigler of Simple Church, and Chaplain Dana Casey of Wills-Knight Hospice. Burial will be held at 2:30 PM at Providence Church Cemetery in Ringgold, La.
Mrs. Honley led a wonderful life and was involved in so many things. She loved the Lord and read her Bible daily. She had been president for WMU at Laurel Height Baptist Church for a number of years, also taught Sunday School for many years. She loved quilting, and sewing for her family. She loved growing vegetables and then giving them away to neighbors and family. She also loved growing beautiful flowers.
Armor Nell Honley, at the age of 98, went to be with the Lord at her home Friday, April 10, 2015. She was born to the late Will and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Sparks in Hall Summit on July 11, 1916. She is preceded in death by her husband George Honley whom she was married for 43 years; also, she had 5 sisters and 5 brothers with one being her twin.
She left three children, Glen Honley and his wife Carol, Maudine Hooker, Claudine Diviney and her husband Tom, who was also her care givers, one brother Sam Sparks and his wife Nell.
She left a large number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chase Peterson, Tommy Diviney, Jr., Jordan Trottier, Dave Diviney, Danny Ray Sparks, Pete Burks, Dean Apple, and Daniel Foster.
We wish to thank WK Hospice workers; Tristy and Carla, Dr. Bickham and his staff, Chaplain Dana Casey, Sam and Nell Sparks (thanks for bringing over food for weeks for our family at this time), and Easter Seals "Ms. Marline."
