Arthur “Joe” Joseph Cox, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 12, 2023 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born on February 21, 1938 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Arthur Joseph Cox, Sr. and Bonnie Akes Cox.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Ted Hardan.
Joe loved and took care of his family as best as he could. He liked to tinker with mechanical things and watch movies. You might find him watching a western or housewives reality shows. Everyone that met Joe loved him and his kind heart.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Joseph Cox, Sr. and Bonnie Akes Cox; brother, Adam D. Cox; sisters, Marsha Lambing and Barbara Boulanger of Shreveport and nephew, Max Cox. He is survived by his brother, David Cox and wife, Mary of Alexandria, LA; sister, Anita Steward and husband, James of Shreveport, LA; nephews, Ricky Cox, Adam Cox, Jeff Lambing, Devon Cox and wife, Jessi, and Kevin Boulanger of Shreveport, LA; niece, Courtney Reger and husband, Gorden of Ruston, LA; great-nieces and great-nephews, Jordon Cox, Shyla Cox, Jackson Collins, Frank Reger, Carleigh Reger, Brynn Reger, and Bailee Reger.
Honoring Joe as pallbearers will be Gorden Reger, Brynn Reger, Frank Reger, David Cox, and Adam Cox. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be James Steward and Ricky Cox.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Countryside Christian Church, 7149 Brossette Rd., Shreveport, LA 71129.
