Arthurine "Sam" Knox Lupo, loving Wife, Mother and Mamaw, was born November 20, 1942 to Charles E. Knox, Sr. and Regenia Beryl Jamison Knox. She was born in Atlanta, Texas and then moved to Shreveport, graduating from C.E. Byrd High School. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 17, 2018 at the age of 75. Services celebrating her life will be in the chapel of Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Officiating will be Dr. Kenny Joyner. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial. Visitation will be on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Rose-Neath Southside.
Sam is preceded in death by her sisters, Charlotte Repasky and Regenia Travis. Sam is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Lynwood E. Lupo, and her children, Wayne Lupo and wife Brenda, Lynette Ivey and husband Jerry; brother Charles E. Knox, Jr. and wife Linette, all of Shreveport. Mamaw is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Lauren Lupo Johnson and husband, Brett; Justin Ivey; Morgan Ivey Randel and husband, Connor; and Jared Lupo and fiancée', Michaela Altvater; great grandsons, Kole and Drake Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
At the time of Sam's death, she was a home maker and member of First Baptist Church of Greenwood. Through the years she was very involved in various church ministries including Women's Ministry, Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School at Broadacres and Willow Point Baptist Church.
Sam's laugh was contagious and would light up any room she walked into. She was known for her cooking and took pride in her fried chicken. Mamaw also loved supporting her grandchildren. On game day, she would dress from head to toe in their team colors. She always greeted her grandkids as they arrived home from school with their favorite snacks.
Honoring her as pallbearers will be David Burden, Justin Ivey, Keith Knox, Jared Lupo, Connor Randel, Steve Repasky, Mike Travis, David Travis, and honorary pallbearer Brett Johnson.
The family would like to thank Andrell White and Leona Jones for all the love and tender care shown to her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Greenwood.
