Arzina Faye Dozier Crews, 69, passed away quietly on Monday afternoon, February 10, 2025. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Memorial services will be held Sunday, February 16, at 2:00 p.m. at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Airline Dr. Interment will be in Haughton Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Reverend Andrew Brewster.
Arzina was born to William McClain Dozier and Claudine Smith Dozier on November 30, 1955, in San Antonio, Texas. Due to her father’s military service, she had the opportunity to see most of the continental United States, as well as several years in Germany and Okinawa. Her parents preceded her in death.
Arzina had an artist's soul. She was a talented painter, but later turned her creativity to sewing. While maintaining a full-time job, she frequently made garments or quilts for loved ones, including many dresses for her daughter’s high school dances and weddings. Another hobby was gardening; she had a passion for nature, both wild and tame. Over the years, she had many gardens, both flowers and produce. She frequently enlisted the help of her husband and daughters when it came to planting or harvesting time, or to chase away the scary frogs and lizards.
Though not a steady churchgoer, Arzina was an avid studier of the bible. She wasn't satisfied to read only one translation; she kept many, studying and pondering the various versions. She encouraged her household to be just as studious.
On March 4, 1978, Arzina married her soul mate, Ernest Wray Crews. They were once coworkers, but the man on the green Honda motorcycle swept her away. Together they shared 47 wonderful years.
Remaining to cherish Arzina Crews is her husband, Ernest; daughter, Stephanie Crews; son-in-law, Todd Mitchell; grandson, Robert Mitchell; step-granddaughter, Allison Mitchell; daughter, Christina Crews; son-in-law, Jeaux Spratley, and sister, Debbie Clevenger.
Honoring Arzina as pallbearers will be Todd Mitchell, Jeaux Spratley, Bryan Clevenger, Ronnie Crews, Gary Badgeley, and Randy Meyers.
