A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Ashley Nicole Adkison will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home 2201 Airline Drive Bossier City, Louisiana at 3:00 p.m. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Dr. Lester Sombito of Georgetown, Texas.
Ashley Nicole Adkison was born on April 1, 1991, in Texarkana, TX and passed away on January 16, 2024, in Dallas, TX. She was the daughter of Wendy Vines and her husband, Paul Vines of Bossier City, Louisiana. Ashley was a 2009 graduate of Caddo Magnet High School. After two years at LSU- Baton Rouge, she returned home to complete her bachelor’s degree at LSU-Shreveport in 2014. Ashley worked in the commercial insurance industry for the past several years at McGowan, Donnelly & Oberheu based in Austin and had a side business with Rover where she was able to love on animals which she preferred over humans.
Ashley was an avid traveler, with her favorite trip being Portugal in 2023. She was also a die-hard San Antonio Spurs fan. She also enjoyed attending the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars home games. She was a lover of Taco Bell and Shark Week. Ashley was a big trivia buff and was super competitive when playing board games with her family & friends. She enjoyed attending music festivals, wine-tasting and trying new restaurants. She loved working out and often went for walks on the Katy Trail in Uptown. She was very social and had an amazing group of friends. Ashley spent a great deal of time planning dinners, girls’ trips, Galentine’s Day and Friendsgiving celebrations. Gift-giving, generosity and spoiling those she loved were truly her love language. Her absolute best friends were her mom and her 10-year-old Weimaraner, Layla, who had been with Ashley since she was 8 weeks old.
Ashley was preceded in death by her father; James ‘Jim’ Adkison; her maternal grandparents, Bob & Bobby Turner; and her great-grandparents. Left to cherish her memory are her parents; Wendy & Paul Vines; brothers, Kyle Vines and wife, Kim, Jacob & Nathan Vines; sister, Karmon Bonaventure and husband, Stuart; Aunts & Uncles; Clay Turner, Jennifer Lee and husband, John, Chandra Shoalmire and husband, Ryan, and Christa Wilbanks; Cousins, Jaden, Jordan, and Juliet Lee, Hollister & Declan Shoalmire, and a whole host of extended family and friends. Ashley was loved deeply and will be missed tremendously.
