Virginia was born on December 9, 1931 in Miller County, Arkansas to Audry and Donie Capps. She grew up on Capps City Road in Rodessa, Louisiana and graduated from Rodessa High School. After graduation she met her “Jimmy Boy” and they remained married for 67 years. Virginia worked as a clerk for Texas Eastern gas company and went on to have 3 handsome sons.
Virginia was talented. She could decorate, tie bows, arrange flowers, and was our family seamstress. She enjoyed family vacations to Destin, Hot Springs and Dallas. She was most famous for her chocolate fudge cake and Christmas punch, that left us all with red lips.
Virginia was a faithful member of Trinity Heights Baptist Church since 1981. She served in her Sunday School class, enjoyed many lunches with the 39ers and trips to Branson.
Virginia was very loving to her family, she was a precious wife, amazing mother and the best Mamoo to all her grandkids.
Virginia is preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Lea Roberts; her parents, Audry and Donie Capps and her son, Paul Woollen. She is survived by her husband, Jim; sons, Mark Woollen and wife, Susan and Chris Woollen and wife, Haley; three granddaughters, Ashley Pellegrin and husband, Joel, Cassie Jennings and husband, Heath, Kaytlin Crook and husband, Cole; three grandsons, Tanner Woollen, Ryder Woollen and wife, Katie and Aidan Woollen; seven great-grandchildren; niece, Karen Roberts Gates; nephew, Gary Roberts and a host of great-nieces and nephews.
Honoring Virginia as pallbearers Cole Crook, Heath Jennings, Joel Pellegrin, Aidan Woollen, Ryder Woollen and Tanner Woollen.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials may be made to the children and youth ministries of Trinity Heights Baptist Church, 3820 Old Mooringsport Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana 71107.
We would like to extend a special thanks to caretakers Kathy Little, Gwen Phillips, and the Willis Knighton Bossier 4th floor staff.
