SHREVEPORT, LA - Barbara Ann Robertson Wiley, 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 30, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 5850 Buncombe Rd, Shreveport, LA 71129. Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m. Bayou Scie Methodist Cemetery, in Zwolle, LA. Officiating will be Dr. Chad Hardbargar and Brother Harry Forester. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home.
Barbara was born on August 20, 1939 in Peason, LA the youngest child of Ora Adna and Ettie Bell Corley Robertson. She met and married the love of her life, Roy N. Wiley and they celebrated 52 years of marriage. Barbara was very active throughout her life. She was a devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was always giving of herself and her time to God and to her church family. She spent most of her life knowing she was a child of God. Nothing was more dear to her than her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, sister, and her only grandchild, William E. Anthony III. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Roy. N. Wiley; daughter, Sheila Wiley Anthony; sister, Bertie Stewart and husband, Les of Stroud, OK, brother, Barnie Robertson and wife, Emma Lou Robertson of Sulfer, LA. Along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Honoring Barbara as pallbearers will be Dale Lemmons, Doug Robertson, Ronnie Robertson, Robbie Wiley, Matthew Wiley, and David Freeman, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Terry McCollough and Wayne Lemmons.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Professional Home Health for all the wonderful care they gave, to Barbara's nurse Brenda with Southern Care Hospice Services for the care, love and support she gave. Also a special thank you to Gwen Howard for being there through the years and for being such a dear friend to Barbara and to the Faith Sunday School class for all the prayers, love and support you have given to us all.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, or to the Church or charity of your choice.
