Barbara Thomas Clark

A Graveside Service for Barbara Thomas Pennington Clark, 93, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Forest Park West, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Price Harris. 

Barbara was born on April 13, 1931, in El Dorado, Arkansas, to Mildred Knowles and Talmon Thomas and peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

Barbara was blessed to be a stay-at-home Mom during her children’s younger years. Her home was the center of her family, especially during holidays. Always the life of the party, Barbara was happiest when she could host and entertain her many friends and family. 

Having a deep faith in and love of the Lord, Barbara guided her children to develop a strong relationship with God and His church. Barbara and her husband, Jack, taught Youth Sunday School at Calvary Baptist Church. She often said these were the best times of her life. 

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Floyd Edward Thomas; her husband, the father of her children, Ira Jack Pennington and her husband, William C. Clark. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Reese (Tom); son, Jerry Pennington, Sr. (Kelley); grandchildren, Michelle Pennington, Jerry Pennington, Jr. (Jessica), and Devyn Pennington and three great-grandchildren, Austin, Connor, and Brice Pennington.

Honoring Barbara as pallbearers will be Jerry Pennington, Sr., Jerry Pennington, Jr., Devyn Pennington, Austin Pennington, Tom Reese, and Rick Boswell.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Pelican House at The Glen, LifePath Hospice, and special friend, Katie Simpson. You each affected her life by providing love and comfort.
