Barbara J. Hamby

Shreveport, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Barbara Jean Hamby (Mamaw), age 87 will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Pastor David Radford officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Forest Park West, Shreveport. There will be a time of visitation on Tuesday, March 1^st from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hamby was born on January 21, 1929 in Shreveport, LA to Trueman and Aline Stinson Godfrey and passed away on February 28, 2016 at Garden Park Nursing Home. She was in sales, loved to crochet, reading, fishing and being with all her family.

Mrs. Hamby was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her sister, Ann Oliver; daughters, Donna Lynn Vinson and partner, Jeannie Edwards, Brenda Joyce Cochran and husband. Ronald J. Cochran. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jamie Beaton, Kimberly Storey, William Cochran and Paul Cochran and 8 great grandchildren.

Honoring Mrs. Hamby as pallbearers will be Robbie Storey, Michael Cochran, Ryan Storey, Brett Smith, Kyle Storey and Joel Smith.
