Barbara Jean Miller McDaniel peacefully left for her heavenly home to be reunited with her husband and son on August 30, 2023, at the age of 87. She had her family by her side.
Her family would like to welcome guests to a visitation at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport, Louisiana on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Pastor John Harp of Brookwood Baptist Church where Barabra was a member. Assisting the service will be Rev. Barry Miller of Waco, Texas. Interment will be held at Forest Park West Cemetery.
Barbara was born in Toro, Louisiana on August 6, 1936, to Imer Vidler Miller and Ivey C. Miller. She graduated from Pisgah High School in 1954. She married her high school sweetheart and became a homemaker. Barbara worked in School Food Service for 25 years. She worked most of that time as Cafeteria Manager at Sunset Acres Elementary School. After she retired, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her family and friends. Barbara had a heart for serving others. She and Mitch cared for numerous relatives in their home through the years. She will remain forever in our hearts. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Ranee Muse and her husband Carl Muse; granddaughter, Cura Muse; grandson, Austin Muse; and great-grandchildren, Liya Muse and Jayce Muse; along with numerous other family members and friends. Waiting to welcome her is her loving husband of 56 years, Mitchell McDaniel; son, Randall McDaniel; parents, Imer and Ivey Miller; and brother, Bobby Miller.
Honoring Barbara as pallbearers will be her nephews, Larry Miller, Barry Miller, Adam Miller, David West, Aaron Presley, and Luke Presley.
The family wishes to thank the kind and caring staff at The Oaks of Louisiana that cared for her; along with Lifepath Hospice who made sure she was at peace when she left us. Barbara will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. We will cherish the wonderful memories and precious time we spent together.
