Barbara Gail Sharrow

A Memorial and Prayer Service for Barbara Gail Sharrow will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home at 943 Polk Street; Mansfield, La 71052. Family visitation will be from 9:00 am until 10:00 am and the family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. The graveside prayer service will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery 4000 Meriwether Road Shreveport, La 71109 at 1:30 pm. 

Barbara “Gail” Sharrow, age 82, passed away August 06, 2024 in her home in Mansura, Louisiana following a massive heart attack, as she went quickly, with no pain nor suffering. Barabra “Gail” Sharrow was born in Alexandria, La to Harry and Arlee Thornhill who preceded her in death, she also had two brothers, Harry O. Thornhill and Seabie Thornhill, and one sister, Maelea Holliman which all three siblings preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were one grandchild, Kaitlyn Morris, and one great grandchild, Jackson Duke. 

Gail enjoyed life and traveled to many places. She worked in Albuquerque New Mexico with the Social Security Administration. Later on, Gail moved to Las Vegas Nevada and worked in the home health field. Gail met a lot of people while working in these two places. Gail also worked for the DeSoto Parish Council on Aging by providing direct care for the elderly and disabled in their homes. Gail also worked for Kingsley Retirement Center in Shreveport, La as a Medication Technician Supervisor. 

Gail is survived by one son, Alfred Sharrow-DeMars (Jeff), and four daughters, Christine Morris (Toni), Cynthia Andrews (Bryan), Dawn Ryals (David), and Norma Fuller (Perry). Gail is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren, and a large host of cousins and friends. Gail is also survived by one longtime best friend, Glenda Lagars, and last but not least, her dachshund dog, “Carlie” who she deeply loved and adored. 

Honoring the life of Gail as pallbearers will be James Andrews, Jeff Andrews, Rachel Morris Davis, Ashley Andrews Duke, Rondreal Fields, and Joshua Spencer. Honorary pallbearers will be Evan Davis, Jeffery Andrews, II, Josh Ryals, Chad Fuller, Jodi Ryals Vines, Chelsea Fuller Wise, Tristan Ryals, and Denise Ryals Flores.

The Journey Home There’s a path that leads to a turn in the road, and we each must travel there, where the father waits to take us home to the shelter of his care, where happiness, peace and joy replace tears and pain, and our loved ones rest in the arms of GOD to sweetly live again!
