Bearl "Red" Jones Lafitte

Bearl “Red” Jones Lafitte, 89, of Mansfield, Louisiana passed away December 9, 2024. He was born on February 2, 1935 in Pelican, Louisiana to the late Burl Aulton Lafitte and Francis Semmes Young. 

A visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2024 located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 943 Polk St. Mansfield, LA 71052. A funeral mass honoring the life of Red will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rambin, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Fr. Tim Hurd. The burial will be held in the church cemetery. 

Red was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Marie Guillotte Lafitte; brother, Bell Young Lafitte; and sister, Ina Marie Lafitte. Left to cherish his memory include his sons, Joseph Lafitte (Suzonne), Jaimy Lafitte (Lori), John Lafitte (Michelle), and Jerone Lafitte (Tonya); daughters, Joyce Lafitte-Nesom (Wade) and Jeanie Hutchinson (Robert); 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Louis Lafitte (Dorothy), Gerald Lafitte, Francis Lafitte (Mitzi), and James Lafitte (Janice). 

Honoring Red as pallbearers will be Tim Lafitte, David Lafitte, Donny Lafitte, JR Mitchell, Andy Mitchell, Jonathan Lafitte, Jeffery Rambin, and Josh Lafitte. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Lafitte and Tim Page. Altar Server will be Brock Lafitte.
