BENTON, LA - Belinda Sue Mills Warren, 57, of Benton, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on October 15, 2016. She was born July 15, 1959 in Shreveport to Cecil and Marion Mills.
She graduated from Byrd High School, then completed School of Cosmetology. Belinda became the owner of a thriving salon in Shreveport. When not working in her salon, she volunteered at LSU Medical Hospital in cutting hair for bedridden patients and sitting with premature babies. She, also, volunteered her services at local nursing homes and private homes.
Belinda loved to visit her family in North Carolina-her sister, Cathy Lash and husband, Mike and their three children, Christa, Michael and Sarah. The children considered Belinda their "second" mom. They grew up with Belinda taking them on many adventures throughout the state.
Christa says, "She brought joy and laughter to the people she met." "She always did find humor in everything," says Michael. Sarah says, "She was very loving and caring even when the odds were against her."
She attended Cypress Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and helped in many ways. Belinda enjoyed paddle boarding on Cypress Lake and walking her dog Cleo.
Belinda was the tireless caregiver to her mother, Marion Mills. Her faithful service, day and night, enabled her mom to pass peacefully at home.
Mark 9:35 "...If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all."
Belinda is preceded in death by her brother, Michael and mother, Marion.
Belinda is survived by her father, Cecil M. Mills and her siblings, Jack Mills, Cathy Lash and Celia Mills.
A graveside will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 5 p.m. at Forest Park Cemetery East, 3700 St. Vincent Ave in Shreveport. Cypress Baptist minister Tommy Patton will officiate.
