PLEASANT HILL, LA--Funeral services honoring the life of Bernard "Morton" Lewis, 63, will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Blue Ridge Methodist Church in Pleasant Hill, LA with Reverend David Hill and Reverend Charlotte Birdwell officiating. Burial will follow at Pelican Cemetery in Pelican, LA. The family will receive friends at Blue Ridge Methodist Church on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 4PM. Morton was born on November 23, 1953 to William Lewis Sr. and Mary Louise Eddie and entered into rest on May 30, 2017. Preceding Morton in death is his parents, William Lewis Sr. and Mary Louise Eddie; brother, W.B. "Benny" Lewis, Jr.; and grandson, Justin Brevelle. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Beatrice Miller Lewis; son, William Benjamin Lewis and his wife Angela; daughter, Jennifer Rivers and her husband Allen Eaves; step-daughter, Devon Maturin and her husband Dustin; sister, Sandra Raines; brothers, Robert "Bobby" Lewis, Stephen Lewis, and John Lewis; grandchildren, Alexis Brevelle, Gavin Brevelle, Tyler Eaves, Destynee Maturin, Jonah Eaves, Shelton Eaves, Vaeda Randall, Joshua Randall, Peyton Eaves, and Kyle Eaves; great-grandchildren, Braesen Baca, Charlie Baca, Addie Eaves, and Wesly Eaves. Pallbearers will be William Lewis, Jimmy Self, Blayne Spilker, Jashua Randall, T.J. Duval, Joseph Free, and Tyler Twyman. Honorary pallbearers will be Alvin "Baybay" Bruce, Mickey Goodman, Kristopher Baca, J.B. Richards, and Donald Slay.
