Bernell Bonnette Blackwell A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Bernell will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Bernell was born on February 11, 1923 in Alexandria, LA and passed away peacefully in her home July 19, 2014 at the age of 91. Preceding her in death are husband, John Edward Blackwell; son, David Blackwell; brother-in-law, Warren Blackwell, Father, Filbert Bonnette; Mother, Marie Mathilda Bonnette; sister, Hazel Marie Bonnette and brother, Joseph Valley Bonnette. Left to cherish many loving memories is her son, Michael Blackwell and wife, Ruby; daughter, Patricia Blackwell and husband, Carsten Westergaard; grandson, Thor Westergaard and brother, Charles Ray Bonnette and wife, Della. Bernell was a very loving and caring person and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
