A “Celebration of Life Service” for Bernice Moss Harville will be held at Woodridge Baptist Church on August 17, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Paul Walker, Bro. Crawford Williams, and Bro. Price Harris.
The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath South Funeral Home on August 16, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at Woodridge Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on August 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. before the service.
Mrs. Harville was born on November 17, 1930 in Ft. Necessity, Louisiana to the late Charles H. Moss and Mary Saylor Moss and entered into rest on August 9, 2024 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church for over 57 years (1948-2005) and later joined Kingston Rd. Baptist and Woodridge Baptist. She was also Director and a kindergarten teacher for Sunset Acres Baptist Church for 34 years. She was a graduate of LSU with a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education at the age of 52..
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Harville; her parents, Charles and Mary Moss; brother, Charles F. Moss; and sisters, Minnie Elkins, and Florice Cole. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Oscar Harville, Jr. (Jolee); daughter, Diana H. Jackson (the late Tim Jackson); granddaughters, Candice Vailes (Brandon), and Kelci Leber (Zach); grandsons, Dustin Harville, Austin Greene, and Christopher Jackson. She was blessed with seven great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Honoring Mrs. Harville as pallbearers will be her son, Oscar Harville, grandsons, Austin Greene, Christopher Jackson, and Brandon Vailes; nephews, Michael Sonnier, and Ronald Causey.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Willis-Knighton Pierremont Stroke Unit for the loving support and compassion during her time of need. Also, many thanks to The Glen for all the loving care.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Woodridge Baptist Church.
