Bessie Theo Holt

Coushatta, LA - A funeral service celebrating the life of Bessie Theo Holt, 88, will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home Coushatta Chapel with nephew, Brother Delbert Terry of Blanchard Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Haughton, LA. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 AM prior to service time. Mrs. Holt was born on November 10, 1929 in Bivens, Texas to William and Suzie Owen Terry and passed away February 20. 2018 in Coushatta, Louisiana. During her lifetime, she was a librarian at Dora, MO school district. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and loved her home in Missouri. She enjoyed working in the garden and baking, and always made plenty of sweets at Christmas time. She was a joy to be around and had a huge, wonderful church family. She had the wisdom of many years and could answer any question one brought to her. Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by her parents, William and Suzie Terry; husband, Jack Dempsey Holt; daughter, Terrye Ann Lindemann; four brothers, Houston Terry, Delbert Terry, Clyde Terry and Jim Terry; and three sisters, Sally Brumley, Reba Grisham, and Roberta Brumley. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Kenneth Wayne Holt and wife Mary of Coushatta, LA; sisters, Eva Lowe of Many, LA and Ouida Colley of Logansport, LA; two brothers, Reed Terry of Blanchard, LA and William Terry of Gilliam, LA; grandchildren, Dawn Barrett, Jennifer Lindemann, Jessica Hardwick, Katrina Holt, Ashley Lindemann, Stacey Lindemann, and Kenneth Wayne Holt, II; and eighteen great-grandchildren. Honoring Mrs. Holt as pallbearers will be Kenneth Wayne Holt II, Justin Watkins, Mark Colley, Bobby Barrett, Chris Harris and Ryan Harris.
