Bettie L Waldroup

Betty Lou Waldroup, 92, passed away September 3, 2020. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am September 12, 2020 at Centuries Memorial in Shreveport, La, with Brother Roy Miller officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm - 6:00pm September 11, 2020 at Rose-Neath Southside in Shreveport, La. Betty was born March 22, 1928 at Many, La. She earned a degree and taught in the Home Economics dept at Northwestern College in Natchitoches. She worked as the Home Demonstration Agent for Desoto parish. She also began the first kindergarten program at Summer Grove Baptist Church. She was a long time congregant and choir member of First Baptist Church Of Mansfield. Betty is preceded in death by father Wilkerson Gasway German, mother Bettie Blackwell German, and sister Martha Virginia German. She is survived by her sister Sarah Darwina Boyd; daughters, Sarah Ellis of Littleton CO, Sue McQuaig of Myrtle Beach, SC, and son Donald Glenn Waldroup of Shreveport, LA; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Mansfield. Grateful thanks to the compassionate and caring staff of The Glen.
