Mansfield, LA - A Service to honor the life of Betty Jean Bates Breeland will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel with Bro. Larry Pridmore and Bro. Joe Waggoner officiating. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 until 9:00 PM on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Rose-Neath Mansfield Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Betty Jean was born November 24, 1927, to Louis Reed and Gladys Roberts Bates and went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 6, 2014. She was a devout Christian and taught all of us the way to live by example. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

BB was a wonderful and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her great grands were the light of her life. She always enjoyed attending any events in which her kids participated. She enjoyed her birds, hummers, squirrels, and flowers.

"Miss Betty" worked for many years as bookkeeper at various livestock barns around the area with the last being Red River Livestock. All cattlemen in the surrounding area knew and respected "Miss Betty".

Preceding her in death were her husband, Larnell Travis "Tony" Breeland, son Travis "Buddy" Breeland and granddaughter Lynn Callender.

Betty is survived by her children Sandra Dickens and husband Bill, Nancy Callender and husband Neil and Ginger Sharp and husband Percy; grandchildren Ginny Wilson (Bryan), Justin Mahaffey (Taryn), Katy Smith (Jason), Cassie Snead (Christian), Courtney Mankowski (Ken) and Abby Loechler (Zack). Also left to cherish her memory are great grandchildren Walker, Kayleigh, Ellie, Eli, Gracie, Jamison, Colten, Patrick, Sean and Sullivan; and host of family and friends.

Honoring mother as pallbearers will be Chuck Garrett, Rayburn Smith, Darrell Anthony, Henry Horton, Benny Peek, Sonny Sklar, Ned Henry and Ross Hunt. Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Baxter.

The family request that memorials be made to Children's Miracle Network, 1453 East Bert Kouns, Shreveport, LA 71105.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Denis Kamberov, Dr. Tommy Brown, Dr. Anil Velovelu, Superior Hospice and her sitters Tracee and Tammy.
