Betty Jean Bridges

Betty Jean (Aldridge) Bridges, 90 of Zwolle, Louisiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 11, 2024, in Ruston, Louisiana. She was born to Richard Stephen Aldridge and Rebecca Nancy (Johnson) Aldridge on July 23, 1933, in Alma, Georgia.

A visitation will be held for her on Thursday, February 15, 2024, prior to her funeral from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, 9891 Texas Highway, Many, LA 71449. At the conclusion of her visitation, her funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Officiating her service will be Rev. Lee Dickson with Gary Bridges assisting. Her burial will immediately follow at Florien Cemetery, 1452 North Nolan (Highway 171), Florien, Louisiana. 

Betty was always a caretaker. She began as a nurse, had her own childcare business, volunteered in her church nursery, and cared for her love, J. C. Bridges, who she married February 12, 1955. Even in her last years, although she was bedridden, she continued to care for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren through her prayers to her Lord. 

Preceding her in death are her parents, Richard Aldridge and Rebecca (Johnson) Aldridge; her husband of 67 years, Jardis Cleo “JC” Bridges; her daughter, Judy Brossette; her granddaughter, Jennifer Laura Bridges; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Vera Taylor (Joe), Edna Crosby (Clifton), Lucille Teston (William), and Juanita Christmas (Curtis); and her brother and sister-in-law, William “Bill” Aldridge (Eloise). Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Wayne Bridges (Stacy) of Choudrant, LA, Gary Bridges (Christy) of Zwolle, LA; her son-in-law, Tim Brossette of Sulphur, LA; her brother-in-law, Andrew Bridges of Shreveport; her 7 grandchildren, Lindsey Bridges, Kara Bridges, Gary Paul Bridges, Jr. (Alicia), Jerad Bridges, Ryan Brossette (Lauren), and Jeremy Brossette (Brittany); and her 10 great-grandchildren. In addition, she leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members. 

Honoring her as pallbearers will be Ryan Brossette, Jeremy Brossette, Kaden Bridges, Dallan Bridges, Nicholai Brossette, and Johnny McCall. Her honorary pallbearers will be Tim Brossette, Gary Paul Bridges, Jr., and Jerad Bridges.
