Betty Nix Brown

Bossier City, LA- Betty Nix Brown was born June 24, 1938, to Hayden and Era Leslie Nix in Long Branch, Texas. She passed away on May 12, 2015 at Colonial Oaks Nursing Center in Bossier City, LA, following a long struggle with complications related to diabetes and Alzheimer's diseases. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tom Brown, and her brother, Erven Nix.She is survived by sisters, Nadine Schaff (Chase), Donna Gribble (Buster) and sister-in-law, Peggy Nix. Although Betty had no children of her own, she adored her niece and nephews: Mary Orendorff, David Schaff, Steven Schaff, Kevin Gribble and Robert Gribble. Betty's family will miss her greatly. They will find comfort through cherished memories. They were blessed to share her life. The family appreciates the loving care given to Betty by the doctors, nurses and staff members at Colonial Oaks Nursing Center during her lengthy confinement in the facility. Also, they are grateful to Peggy Nix for her attention to Betty's needs outside the nursing center. A graveside memorial will be held at Shiloh Cemetery in East Texas on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11 a.m.
