A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Betty Joe McComic Goss on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Oak Hill Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Brother Brian Gilcrease officiating. A visitation for the family to welcome friends will be held from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM before the memorial service. Betty McComic Goss, 81, passed away in Many, Louisiana, on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.
Betty was born on January 28, 1940, to the late G.W. and Lillie (Randolph) McComic. She grew up in Many, Louisiana and was a 1957 graduate of Many High School. On November 10, 1963, she married the love of her life, Wilfred Ray "Jack" Goss, and they made their home in the Oak Hill Community.
Betty worked a lengthy career in health care at Frasier Hospital, Founds Clinic, and Heritage Manor #2. Upon retiring she began a new career as the Assistant Director at the Sabine Parish Council on Aging, where she worked until 2016. She was known for her classy, stylish outfits, broach collection, and her love of laughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 31 years, "Jack" Goss, three sisters: Viola McComic Cox, Leola McComic Fletcher, and Jackie McComic Flynt, and one brother, Buddy McComic.
Left to cherish her memory include her two daughters: Nan Arthur (Ricky) of Florien and Jennifer Rogers (Stanley) of Florien, four grandchildren: Colton Rogers (Tristann) of Florien, Paige Kennedy (Josh) of Zwolle, Peyton Arthur of Winnfield, and Connor Arthur of Florien, three great grandchildren: Raelynn and Reed Rogers of Florien and Leon Kennedy of Zwolle, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
