Betty Jean Farmer was born in Robeline, Louisiana September 24, 1930 to Clarence Major Hardy and Mayo Veuleman Hardy. She was a resident of Stonewall, Louisiana and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was retired from University Elementary as Cafeteria Manager for over 30 years.
Funeral services for Betty will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, south side of LA Hwy. 6 in Robeline, Louisiana. A visitation will be held at Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Bishop Thompson.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Calvin Farmer; son, Gary Farmer; grandson, Greg Farmer; brothers, Marvin and Aubrey Hardy; and sister, Zeba Dillard. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sharon Nelson and husband, Ralph, Phillip Farmer and wife, Dianne, Charles Farmer and wife, Tammy; brother, Glen Hardy and wife, Irene, and sister, Laverne Jackson; grandchildren, Brian Nelson (Sherill), Kim Purland (Scott), Paul Farmer (Amy), Sabrina Battlefield, Ashley Dubois (Jason), Kendall Farmer , Christy Farmer (Jeff), Josh Farmer, Stephanie Farmer, Charlene Rivers (Johnny), and Corey Farmer; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
Honoring Betty as pallbearers will be Jeffrey Purland, Blake Purland, Brian Nelson, Jr., Christopher Nelson, Brandon Nelson, Jonathan Nelson, Paul Farmer, Corey Farmer, and Clayton Dubois.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the Missionary Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
