SHREVEPORT, LA - Betty went home to be with the Lord on January 2, 2016 after a brief illness. Services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport. Brother Randy Riley will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, January 8, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Betty was born on July 7, 1930 to Johnie and Estelle Crumpler in Texarkana, TX. She grew up in Shreveport and graduated from Fair Park High school. She married Ronald Wallace Keifer in 1951 and they settled in California and raised their three children. After her husbands' death in 1991, she returned to her native Shreveport to be with her family and lifelong friends. She was a member of Trinity Heights Baptist Church and spent most of her spare time travelling all over to visit her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her only sister, Barbara Rambin, and her husband, Ron. Betty is survived by her only brother, Johnie Crumpler of N. Richland Hills, TX; her two daughters, Debra and Ronda, both of California and her only son, David of Shreveport. She has twelve grandchildren, Justin Steblay of Joshua, TX, Sarah Steblay Ruiz, of Seattle, WA, Kathryn Steblay of Las Vegas, NV, Edward, Steven and Lindsay Wade of California, Clayton and Estelle Hansen of California, Aaron Keifer of Oregon, Jeremy Keifer of New Orleans, Jenna Curlin of Florida and Matthew Keifer of Shreveport. She has three nieces, Anne Baker Skyrme of Shreveport, Robyn Ross and Becky Harville of Texas, three nephews, Kevin Crumpler of Texas, Steven Baker and James Baker, both of Shreveport.
Honoring Betty as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Justin Steblay, Clayton Hansen, Jeremy Keifer, and Matthew Keifer and her nephews Steven Baker and James Baker.
