Betty Jean King

Betty Jean King SHREVEPORT, LA - Betty Jean King, 87, passed away December 7, 2015. Services celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Shreveport. Officiating will be Dr. Jeff Raines. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Betty was born on September 1, 1928 in Rochelle, LA to Bertha Tedder and William C. King. She retired from the Department of Justice U.S. Attorney\'s Office in Shreveport. Betty was an active member of First Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Carroll and RJ King, and sister, Hazel Phippen. Left to cherish her memories are her niece, Eddie Mae Smiley; sister-in- law, Shirley Caldwell, and great nieces and nephews, Tanya, Terri, Todd, Jaclyn, Mike, and David and also other numerous cousins and extended family. The family suggests memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 543 Ockley Dr., Shreveport, LA 71106 or to the charity of donor\'s choice.
