A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Betty Joe Tanner Sanders, age 87, at Arlington Cemetery, 464 Hwy 146 in Homer, LA, on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with, Andrew Abshire, officiating.

Mrs. Betty was born December 31, 1934, the youngest of three children in a log cabin near Wares Chapel, AR, to Robert Earl and Ozelle Ware Tanner. She entered into rest on Saturday, October 8, 2022, in Bossier City, LA. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her close-knit family and cherished the time with her great-grands. Mrs. Betty was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. She valued her many friendships she had throughout her life.  

Mrs. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Clifton Sanders; two siblings, Harold McKenzie Tanner and Kathryn Tanner Lambeth; and a son-in-law, Kevin Ray Reeder.

She is survived by her daughter, Anita Sanders Reeder; two granddaughters, Lindsay Mills and husband Vince and Shea Reeder; great-grandchildren, Molly, Reed, Davis, Vivienne, Ella and Louis; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Betty’s family would like to express special thanks to the doctors and staff of The Blake of Bossier and Intensive Specialty Hospital of Bossier for their compassion and care given to our mother and grandmother during her time of need.

Memorials honoring Mrs. Betty may be to St. Jude or Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.
