Funeral services to celebrate the life of Betty Lou Frizzell Scarborough, 90, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Burial to follow the service at Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 US-80, Haughton, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Harrell Shelton.

Betty was born on November 22, 1932, in El Dorado, Arkansas, to Stephen Lafayette and Irene Webb Frizzell. She went home after a lengthy illness on April 7, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Betty graduated from Fair Park High School in 1950 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She married the love of her life John Robert Scarborough, in 1952. She worked for many years at Bossier Bank & Trust, rising from teller to bank officer in the bookkeeping division. She also worked at Holiday Inn Bossier City as an accountant and retired in 2006. Betty was a longtime member of Airline Baptist Church since before it was Airline Northside. She was a choir member, deacon’s wife, church clerk, and a number of other positions. In her later years, she greatly enjoyed the weekly senior adult game day and light lunch. Betty was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who will be greatly missed.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Robert Scarborough; grandson, Stephen Robert Ford; great-grandson, Solan Peterson; daughter-in-law, Mary Scarborough; and sisters, Vera LaGrone, Peggy Pate, and Mattie Boyter. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Gail Scarborough Ford and husband, Eldon; son, John David Scarborough; grandchildren, Douglas Lee Ford, Bridget Scarborough Peterson and husband, Ronnie, and David Scarborough and wife, Sarah; great-grandchildren, Sammy Peterson, Parker Ann Scarborough, and Lane David Scarborough; sister, Mary Ann McCrary and husband, George; and brothers, Charles Frizzell, James Frizzell and wife, Phyllis, Robert Frizzell and wife, Mary, and Kenny Frizzell and wife, Ann.

Honoring Betty as pallbearers will be Ronnie Peterson, David Scarborough, Charles Wayne Brakeville, Clayton Brakeville, Glen Stephens, and Jeremy Green.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at The Gables of Spring Lake for taking such good care of Betty.
