Betty B Sistrunk

Shreveport, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Betty B. Sistrunk, age 89 will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside Chapel with Bro. Mark Benge officiating assisted by Bro. Harry Forrester. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation on Friday, December 30^th beginning at 9:00 a.m. until service time.

Mrs. Sistrunk was born on December 16, 1927 in DeSoto Parish, LA to George Bridges and Orvilla Dykes Bridges and passed away on December 16, 2016. She was a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA.

Mrs. Sistrunk was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer V. Sistrunk; parents, George and Orvilla Bridges; son, Ron Mathis and brothers George Bridges, Jr. and Ray Bridges. She is survived by her sons, Robert E. Mathis and wife, Cindy and David R. Mathis and wife, Cindy; daughter, Dianne Mathis Rodgers; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Ruby Bridges Williams and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Honoring Mrs. Sistrunk as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Greg Mathis, Kevin Rodgers, Brad Mathis, Colt Rodgers, Casson Mathis and great grandson, Andrew Mathis.
