Funeral services for Bettye P. Lowe will be held Friday, April 22, 2016 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Brian Mercer officiating. Interment will follow at Minden Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 20166 at First United Methodist Church. Bettye was born April 4, 1925 in Homer, Louisiana and entered into rest April 17, 2016 in Minden, Louisiana. She was a 1943 graduate of Minden High School, 1946 graduate of Tri-State School of Nursing, and a fifty-four year employee of Minden Medical Center She volunteered at UCAP and First United Methodist Church. Bettye loved flowers, gardening, and bird watching, but most of all her life was a life of service caring for others. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Clara Pitman, husband Claud Obe Lowe, daughter Shirley Chapman, grandson Miracle Moller, sister Margaret Neilson, and brothers Rev. Harold Pitman and Robert James Pitman. She is survived by her sons Robert L. Chapman and Thomas I. Lowe, daughter Nancy Lowe, sister Ida Mae Yarborough, grandchildren Ashly, Kim, Christina, Shelby, Anna, Devon, Robert II, and Kameryn, and great-grandchildren Ivy, Jessie, and Bella. Pallbearers will be Roger Pitman, Eddie Pitman, Matt Pitman, Eugene Pitman, Guy Flanagan, and Danny Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be all former and current employees of Minden Medical Center. During the service a time of remembrance will be held and anyone wishing to share a memory of Ms Bettye may do so in person or you may write it down and her niece, Chrissie Chester will read it for you.
