Beulah Mae Vaughn Sanders was born on August 19, 1926 in Haughton, LA and passed away November 25, 2024 in Shreveport, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents George W. and Mary L. Vaughn, her husband, Eugene C. “Gene” Sanders, six brothers and three sisters and her daughter-in-law.
She is survived by daughters, Brenda Sanders, Barbara Sanders and Rose Mary Crawford (Skip) and son, Steve Sanders (Renee). Grandchildren Gaela, Amanda, Adrian, Jessie, Bubba, Ashly and Melody. Seventeen great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Beulah was a quiet and gentle soul who enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling anywhere they would take her. She devoted most of her years sewing for her children and an occasional friend she just couldn’t say no to. A devoted Christian, she spent her mornings reading her bible. When able she attended Ferry Lake Baptist Church singing in the choir and visiting with her church family. She baked countless batches of what had been deemed “Beulah” Cookies for many of her friends. She would share the recipe but they always seemed to want hers. In her younger days she spent most of her time working in her yard, gardening and soaking up the sunshine. She and her husband also did a lot of fishing back then too. Oftentimes she could be seen at her dining room table working on her jigsaw puzzles.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rose-Neath, Vivian. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Ferry Lake Baptist Church, 10179 Ferry Lake Road, Oil City, LA with graveside services to follow at 2:00 p.m.at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Oil City with Brother Bill Treadway officiating.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons.
