Beverly Loraine Byrnes, 88, of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Beverly was born May 9, 1936, in Queens, New York, the daughter of Albert Miller & Josephine Kelleher. She was the second to youngest of 13 children.
Beverly married Luther Bean in 1956 with whom she had her four children. She later married her best friend, William “Bill” J. Byrnes in 1984 after being together for 14 years. Bill passed on August 17, 2000. They loved getting together with friends and family and dancing. While they didn’t have any biological children together, they did raise Beverly’s children from her prior marriage and then raised three of their six grandchildren as their own.
Beverly worked as a waitress at IHOP in Shreveport for 20-plus years. She loved interacting with the community and “ran circles around the other servers”. Beverly especially loved bingo, going to the casinos, playing cards, and being around her family. She was affectionately known as “Grams” or “Bevie” to all her grandchildren’s friends. Beverly was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She attended Mass every Saturday no matter what. Her faith was one of the most important things to her.
Remaining to cherish Beverly’s memory are her four children, Gary Bean, Kevin Bean, Loraine Steward, & Brenda Cohen; her six grandchildren, Steven Carrier, Jamie Doyle and husband, Cory, Kevin Bean, Jr, Jerry Cohen, and wife, Theresa, Michael Bean, & Krystal Riley (Josh Creswell); great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Schroeder (Zach Walburn), Nathan Riley, Bryson Schroeder, Trinity Beall, Brenten Schroeder, Avery Carrier, Lily Cohen, Aiden Cohen, Mackenzie “Mack" Creswell, Emerson Doyle & Layten Doyle; close family friend, Jackie Williams as well as her many nieces and nephews.
