A Celebration of Life for Beverly Jo Pullig Goodwin, 88, will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside.
Beverly was born July 12, 1929 in Ashland, LA. She worked hard and achieved "buyer status" for cosmetics from a locally owned retail store. She traveled to many locations in the course of her work, including California, Boston, and New York City. During her early years, in addition to working full time, she made time to sew lovely dresses for her daughters. She also loved making quilts. At the age of 73, she became a self-taught painter, learning through reading and a lot of practice.
Beverly was devoted to her husband and children, cooking flavorful dishes when requested by her children and grandchildren. She was known as "Granny" to everyone. The family had many wonderful vacations in Florida, ski trips in Colorado, and weekly family fishing trips. Once she and her husband retired, they loved to visit national parks, especially mountains with lots of wild life.
She enjoyed her home for 58 years before moving in with her youngest daughter, Suzanne and son-in-law, Mark who were honored with the privilege to love and care for her during the last years of her life. On February 12, 2018, she was in the arms of Jesus and reunited with her soulmate, the Love of Her Life, Ben.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Orleans H. and Verda Pullig; husband, Bennie Bob Goodwin; and son, Forrest Leslie Hall, III. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Jewell "Judy" Farr of Birmingham, AL; daughters, Suzanne Goodwin Mann (Mark) and Madelaine Hall Kelly (Henry) of El Paso, TX; grandsons, Leslie Chance Hall and Cameron Sean Kelly; great-granddaughter, Gracelyn Saige Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to give special thanks to Southern Care Hospice, Dr. Craig Miller, and Aunt Babo.
