SHREVEPORT, LA - Bill D. Meek, 75, of Shreveport, LA, retired Captain of the Shreveport Fire Department, was taken from us quickly by pancreatic cancer on October 4, 2015. Please join us to celebrate his life Saturday, October 10, 2015 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 200 Carroll, Shreveport, LA 71105 for a Memorial service and reception to follow. Bill was a beloved husband, daddy, and grandfather. He was an amazing man battling life\'s trials with dignity and strong character. He was an extremely patient man, understanding, and loving. He had a comedic side that would surprise many. He was a runner, loved the mountains, a proud firefighter, EMT, and owner of Apple Dumpling Inn South Fork, CO. He is survived by his wife, Robbie Sue Meek; daughter, Brenda Meek McAteer, daughter and son-in-law, Susan Kathleen Meek Prest (Frank); son and daughter-in-law, Matthew Cameron Meek (Dana); step-children Corina Richter, Chris Platt; grandchildren Tanna McAteer, Tommi McAteer, Jessica Prest, Frank Thomas Prest III, Kyle Prest, Sara Sapp, Cole Platt, Julia Platt, Brody Platt, and David Thomas Platt; sister Shirley Ferguson; half-siblings Sue Wilkinson, Vickie Burks, Mike Perkins.
