Billie Sue Barclay

Shreveport, LA. - Funeral services celebrating the life of Billie Sue Barclay, age 87 will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside with Pastor Will Simmons of North Keithville Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Barclay was born in Chester, Texas on August 29, 1928 to William and Martha Barclay Peters and passed away on February 23, 2016 at Willis-Knighton South in Shreveport. She was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church and a teacher for Caddo Parish Schools with over 25 years of service. Mrs. Barclay touched many students' lives with her compassion and love for teaching. She devoted her life to her family and will be greatly missed by all. Mrs. Barclay is preceded in death by her parents; Leo A. Barclay, husband of 59 ½ years; and her siblings. Those left to cherish her memories are her sons, Byron Barclay and Kyle Barclay; grandchildren, April Barclay Kennington and husband Kyle, and Jennifer Barclay Rossi and husband Dean. She is also survived by her great-grandchild, Eliza Jolie Thomas. Honoring Mrs. Barclay as pallbearers will be Kyle Kennington, Dean Rossi, Matt Pao, George Haydel, Roy Fair and Michael Dawson. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the loving and caring staff at Garden Park Nursing Home and Willis-Knighton South Hospital.
