SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Billie Kendrick Corie, age 88, will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Officiating will be her pastor, Rev. Billy Stevens. Interment will follow at Forest Park, St. Vincent Cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin prior to the service at 11:00 a.m.
Billie passed away Friday, January 8, 2016. She was born on Christmas Day, 1927 in Haynesville, LA and resided in Shreveport all of her adult life.
With her husband Jerry, she was the former owner and operator of Corie Self Storage. Billie served her Lord and Savior at Kelley Memorial Baptist Church and later at Willow Point Baptist Church, where she was active in the Friendship Couple's Class. Affectionately known as "Mamaw", Billie was a homemaker and was well known in painting and sewing circles. She loved sewing for her granddaughters and painting pictures and crafts.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents' her husband, Solomon Jerry Corie, son, George Corie and sister, Catherine Kendrick Ford. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, David Corie and wife, Rene and Ricky Corie and wife, Dionne; grandchildren, Brandon Corie, Allison Brannen and husband, Del and Ashley Staniford and husband, Kerry; great-grandchildren, David Corie, Makinley and Hadley Brannen, and Parker and Presley Staniford. She is also survived by her nephew, Lonnie Ford and niece, Cathy Hagan.
