HOMER, LA: Funeral services were held for Mrs. Billie Dale Timmons Dancy, 80, at the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer, LA on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. Chuck Johnson, officiating. Interment followed at Arlington Cemetery of Homer. The family received friends at the funeral home from 1:30-3:00 p.m.
Mrs. Dancy was born November 10, 1936 in Longstreet, LA to George Walker and Lonie Fowler Timmons. She entered into rest Monday, September 4, 2017.
Mrs. Dancy was a teacher's aide at Summerfield High School. She was proprietor and instructor of Billie's Painting in Homer and taught many friends to paint. Mrs. Dancy was a member of Pleasure Point Baptist Church and Gary Smith's Sunday School class.
Mrs. Dancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Cecil Dancy; grandson, Jason Ferguson; 2 sisters, Marjorie Pugh and Dumer Timmons; and a brother, Trumer Timmons.
She is survived by her two sons, Curtis Dancy and wife Donna of Ruston and Billy Roy Dancy and wife Angel of Magnolia, AR; three daughters, Debbie Carpenter and husband Ben of Hot Springs Village, AR, Brenda Jones and husband Bubba of West Monroe, LA and Teresa Cantrell and husband W.H. of West Monroe, LA; 13 grandchildren, Rachele Fox, Mica Farmer, Drew Carpenter, Shannon Moncrief, Shelly Cannon, Ashley Cripps, Megan Best, Shelby Elliott, Michael Otwell, Leighanna Clifton, Daniel Otwell, Heath Dancy and Hannah Stovall; 23 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Pallbearers were Chris Farthing, Steve Farthing, Mike Farthing, Michael Otwell, Daniel Otwell and Dr. Brian Smith.
Honorary pallbearer were the men of Gary Smith's Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Dancy, her family suggests donations be made to Pleasure Point Baptist Church at 495 Peterson Road, Homer, LA, 71040.
