Billie Caswell McCasland
Billie was a Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She passed away on July 17, 2017. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA. Dr. Larry Williams, Associate Pastor of Broadmoor Baptist Church will be presiding.
Billie was born in Anacoco, LA on July 9, 1935. She was one of eight children. Billie was employed by the Caddo Parish School Board for 26 years. She was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert C. Merchant and second husband, Harold Lane McCasland. There were three children born to the first marriage that survive her, Robert Stephen Merchant of Washington, MI, Teresa Darlene Black of Houston, TX, and Bryan Dale Merchant of Colleyville, TX; three grandchildren, Kerry Merchant Sipes, Corey Stephen Merchant, and Shawna Michelle Black; seven great-grandchildren, Braxton, Beckett and Ryland Sipes, Madison Merchant, Graem, Emerson and Keane Chiuten-Black; and one living sister, Barbara Burroughs of Shreveport, LA.
Special thanks to Dr. P. V. Blanchard, friends and loved ones, for their care and kindness shown to her family.
Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will miss our beloved Mother every day.
