Billie Pool

On Saturday, January 28, 2023, our loving mom, Billie Burton Pool went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  

Billie was born December 18, 1935 in Dubberly, Louisiana to Guy and Lola Burton, who predeceased her along with her husband of 52 years, John Pool and her two sisters, Mary Frances Burton Demoss and Dorothy Burton Martin.  Left to cherish her sweet memories are her children, Donna Pool Pearson, Michael Pool, Susie Pool Morrison (Stan) and Tammy Pool Flowers (Frank), eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and her two brothers, James Burton (Louise), Jim Burton (Amelia), numerous nieces and nephews.  She also leaves behind her rescue bird, Lucky and her precious chihuahua, Chloe.  

Billie was a lover of all animals. It seems all sick or maimed  animals would find their way to her home where she would nurture and rehabilitate them.  She was an avid fisherman and could out-fish any one.  Her hobbies included collecting milk glass, flower gardening and crocheting. Although her condition left her debilitated she loved watching numerous preachers on television and listening to gospel music.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the service begins.  Officiating the service will be Bro. Joe Bob Alexander.  Interment will be held at Forest Park East Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Chad Pool, Jason Lang, Christopher Lang, Kaleb Becker, Josh Sena and Connie Mack Martin.  Honorary Pallbearer is Patrick Flowers.
