Billie Sue Toms, 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Bossier City, Louisiana on July 8, 2020.
Billie was born on July 4, 1939 in Harrell, Arkansas where she was raised and was a resident of Bossier City, LA. She was a graduate from Louisiana Tech where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education. After graduating, she went on to be a teacher at Waller Elementary, and later a teacher and librarian at Plantation Park Elementary. She was then principal at Plantation Park before she was promoted to Supervisor and Director positions within the BPSP system for grades Preschool-3rd grade, where she retired as the Title 1 Director. Billie gained many lifelong friendships and loved being part of the Bossier Parish School Board family for over 30 years. She was a member of Cypress Baptist Church in Benton, LA. Billie loved to fish, cook, and entertain. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Toms, and parents, Katie Sue and Bill Jones. She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Hinton, Missy Richard and husband Carl Wayne; grandchildren, Tori and Syd Hinton, Hannah Doss and husband Dakota, Colby and Carleigh RIchard; great grandchild, Patton Doss; step-children, Karen Toms, Steve Toms and wife Mary; siblings, Jimmie Morris, Jackson Jones, Judy Bigham; and a host of nieces and nephews.
