Billy Joe Cherry, Sr.

Arcadia - A Graveside service will be held for Billy J. Cherry, Sr., age 54, at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Oak Grove Cemetery. Bro. Kelly Leech will officiate. Billy was born March 13, 1962 in Shreveport, LA to John and Betty Jo Kerrns Cherry. He worked in the oil field as a roughneck. Billy was an avid fisherman. Billy is preceded in death by his parents John and Betty Jo Cherry, siblings James Cherry, Linda Cherry, Newell Cherry and 2 infant siblings, and by his father and mother-in-law Emmitt and Bessie Faye Moore. He is survived by his wife Bernice Moore Cherry, sons Kristopher Cherry and wife Betty and Billy Joe Cherry, Jr. and fiancé Kimberly Collins, grandchildren Grady Joe Cherry and Brandi Hall and by his siblings, Ruth Ann Poole, John R. Cherry, Charles H. Cherry, David L. Cherry, Ralph Cherry, Glenda Cherry, Kenneth W. Cherry, Betty Martin, Patsy Jo Brown, Ester L. Carr and William B. Cherry, and by numerous other nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Pallbearers will be Randall Cherry, Ricky Mall, Charles Allen Cherry, Jason Cherry, Nathan Cherry, Cody Cherry, Ben Keough, Fabion Borderlon, Phillip Peterson and Jason Cherry. Honorary pallbearer will be Ralph Nathan Cherry.
