HOMER, LA: Funeral services were held for Mr. Billy W. Lee, 83, at The Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Brian Thurman, officiating. Interment followed in Arlington Cemetery of Homer. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Mr. Lee was born October 1, 1932 in Marsalis, LA to James H. and Avis Cardwell Lee. He entered into rest on Monday, February 15, 2016 in Homer. Mr. Lee graduated from Homer High School. After serving in the U. S. Army, he graduated with a degree in petroleum engineering from LA Tech. Mr. Lee worked as a corrosion specialist for three major U. S. oil and gas companies throughout his career. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Homer. Mr. Lee loved to go hunting and fishing with family and friends. Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Virginia Perry Lee; three sons, Jeff Lee and wife Gina of Midland, MI, Steve Lee of Porter, TX and Jon "Clay" Lee and wife Traci of Chesapeake, VA; two sisters, Barbara Murphy of Minden, LA and Glenda Tooke and husband David of Homer; two grandchildren, Mitchell Lee and wife Colleen of Lansing, MI and Shelley Lee of Grand Rapids, MI; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Mitchell Lee, Tommy Gore, David Murphy, Rusty Taylor, Ronnie Perry, Wayne Perry, James Robinson and David Tooke. In lieu of flowers honoring Mr. Lee, his family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church of Homer or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
