BOSSIER CITY, LA - A memorial service for Billy Edward Meyers, 56, will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Officiating will be Rev. Bryan Reed of the Simple Church. Visitation will be prior to the service, beginning at 5 p.m.
Billy was born March 20, 1959 in Shreveport, LA and passed away May 29, 2015 in Bossier City, LA. Billy graduated from Bossier High School in 1977, where he made life-long friends and enjoyed being a member of the notorious Bossier High School Bearkat football team and track team. Besides his sons, hunting, fishing and Dallas Cowboys football were his passion. He also enjoyed having the family over for crawfish boils regularly.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarice and Lois Wells of Waskom, TX.
Billy is survived by his parents, Guy and Jean Meyers of Bossier, LA; sons, Billy Aaron Meyers and wife Meredith and Colton Taylor Meyers; brothers, Guy Randall Meyers and wife, Brenda and Barry Gene Meyers; sister, Lois Renea Meyers; nephews, Brandon Meyers, Justin Meyers; nieces, Courtney Meyers and Sydney Rich and aunts, Joan Earl and Jerry Dickerson. To make his life complete, he was able to experience being a "Paw Paw" to an awesome little man, Cash Mason Meyers and his sweet sister, Preslee Todd.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Chad Hargon of Willis Knighton, Dr. Christopher Snead, Rev. Keith Adcock, nurse Stephanie of Christus Schumpert Hospice and Rev. Bryan Reed of the Simple Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to B.A.R.K. Shelter or the American Cancer Society.
