Billy Ray Morgan of Shreveport, LA was born March 17, 1943. He went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, June 12, 2017.
Mr. Morgan loved God, his family, and the New Orleans Saints. After serving in the United States Navy, he served 25 years as a Deputy Sheriff for Caddo Parish. Upon retirement from the Sheriff\'s department, he continued serving Willis-Knighton Health System as a dedicated security officer. Though he was proud of his World of Tanks record, he was prouder still of his wife, children, and grandchildren. He led his family well, and loved them with a big heart.
Mr. Morgan is preceded in death by his mother, Ila Rae Morgan Presswood, and his son, Bill Morgan, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara Morgan of Shreveport, LA; son, Clay Morgan and wife April of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Penny Crain and husband Christopher of Vidalia, LA; daughter, Carla Broussard and husband Mike of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Katelyn, Tyler, and Olivia Morgan, Megan, Shelby and Jason Broussard, Kaylee and Morgan Crain; sister, Pat King and Otto Turner of Blanchard, LA; brother, Gary Presswood and wife Paula of Blanchard, LA; and many other family and friends.
A service celebrating the life of Billy Ray Morgan will be held at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Dr. Shreveport, LA on Saturday, June 17, 2017, 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Steve Hill. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, Shreveport, LA. Visitation with the family will be Friday, June 16 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
Honoring Mr. Morgan as pallbearers are Clay Morgan, Gary Presswood, Junior Morgan, Kyle Bruner, JD Dunn, and Cory Wooley.
